Enhancing Social Work Case Management through DSWD Academy Training
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recognizes the vital role of its partner organizations in delivering high-quality social welfare services. A recent Training Needs Assessment (TNA) highlighted a significant gap in the knowledge and skills of staff within Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs), particularly in areas such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mental Health, and Case Management.
To address these critical gaps, the DSWD Academy, in collaboration with the Area-Based Standards Network (ABSNet), conducted a comprehensive training on Social Work Case Management: Enhancing Working with Individuals. This face-to-face learning program was held from October 13-18, 2024, at the Madison Hotel in Quezon City.
The training brought together 68 registered social workers from various Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and Local Government Units across Regions I, II, III, IV-A, and X. This intensive course focused on solidifying the foundational knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for effective social work case management.
By empowering social workers with enhanced capabilities, the DSWD aims to significantly improve the efficiency and responsiveness of social care services across the regions, ultimately benefiting the most vulnerable members of our society. (PJE)
