STANDARDS BUREAU SUCCESSFULLY CONVENES 1ST NATIONAL ABSNet BI-ANNUAL CONVENTION

The Standards Bureau (SB) proudly wrapped up its 1st National Area-Based Standards Network (ABSNet) Bi-Annual Convention, held from May 21 to 23, 2025 at the Pinnacle Resort and Villas in Malay, Aklan.

This year’s theme, “Partnering for Excellence with ABSNet,” truly highlighted the role of collaboration between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and ABSNet members. The convention aimed to foster cooperation to achieve even higher standards and deliver quality social welfare services to Filipinos who need them most.

Attendees participated in a comprehensive program designed to inform and inspire. Discussions included a review of past ABSNet issues, concerns, and agreements, along with updates and an orientation on the Kaagapay Donations Portal (KDP). There was also a lively discussion about the upcoming National ABSNet Election and a showcase of ABSNet’s impressive accomplishments and best practices.

Key officials present included Undersecretary for Regulatory Services and Institutional Development Group (RSIDG) Denise Florence Bernos-Bragas, MD, RSW, Assistant Secretary for RSIDG Janet P. Armas, SB Director Atty. Megan Therese Y. Manahan, SB Assistant Director Cynthia V. Ilano, and National ABSNet Chairperson Fr. Arnold M. Abelardo, CMF, alongside dedicated SB and Standards Section from different DSWD Field Offices and ABSNet personnel.
