DSWD’S HELPS AND MTA NOW ON EGOV PH APP

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has integrated its Harmonized Electronic License and Permit System (HELPS) and Minors Travelling Abroad (MTA) systems into the eGov PH Application, significantly enhancing accessibility for Filipinos. This move aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision for a technologically driven government.
Atty. Megan Therese Y. Manahan, Director IV of the DSWD’s Standards Bureau (SB), highlighted the improved efficiency for Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs), stating, “This is another big step forward in our efforts to ease people’s access to our frontline regulatory services.” SWDAs can now apply for registration, licensing, accreditation, public solicitation permits, and duty-exempt import certifications directly through the app, with faster processing times.
Additionally, the integration of the MTA system allows parents and guardians to apply for travel permits for minors going abroad, ensuring child protection against trafficking and abuse. Asst. Secretary Colico of the DSWD’s Statutory Programs noted the increased visibility and accessibility this provides to the public.
The DSWD’s HELPS and MTA are among over 1,000 government systems now linked to the eGov PH app, marking a key step towards a more connected and efficient public service landscape in the Philippines.
