DSWD TO HOST CASE MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR SOCIAL WORK AGENCIES

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Standards Bureau (SB), organized a Case Management Training and Workshop for Developing Manual of Operations (MOO) for Social Work Agencies on June 9 to 13, 2025 held at the Madison 101 Hotel in Quezon City. This intensive five-day training aimed to significantly bolster the capabilities of social work practitioners in effectively serving marginalized and vulnerable sectors.

The training highlights the DSWD’s ongoing commitment to upholding the rights and well-being of the disadvantaged. The SB ensures that Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs), including Social Work Agencies (SWAs), meet established standards for program registration, licensing, and accreditation.

This particular workshop is designed to equip social work professionals with enhanced competencies in case management, enabling them to navigate emerging trends, share best practices, and address sector-specific challenges. A key outcome will be the development of standardized policies and procedures, fostering consistency, efficiency, and accountability in social work practice. Participants also received practical guidance in crafting or refining their own operational manuals, ensuring alignment with legal and ethical guidelines.

A key aim of the program was to foster collaboration, prompting SWAs to provide mentorship and support to their counterparts. This shared knowledge network supported the DSWD’s overarching goal of enhancing the collective impact of SWDAs throughout the nation.
