EXPLORATORY MEETING OF DSWD STANDARDS BUREAU WITH MSSD BARMM IN COTABATO CITY

In 2019, when the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) became the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the regional departments of the ARMM were reorganized as Bangsamoro Ministries. Thus, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DSWD-ARMM) has been renamed the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD).

In response to an urgent concern, the SWDAs from Regions IX, X, and XII will be transferred to MSSDβs jurisdiction. Thus, in collaboration with the BARMM Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) led by the Minister, Atty. Raisah H. Jajurie , the Standards Bureau (SB) led by Director IV, Atty. Justin Caesar Anthony D. Batocabe and Director III Cynthia V. Ilano, DSWD Field Office XII led by Regional Director Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya and Ms. Sohra P. Guilel, Chief of Policy and Plans Division, participated in the DSWD and MSSD BARMM Exploratory Meeting held in BARMM Government Center, Cotabato City.

The key objective of the meeting was to discuss MSSD’s own regulatory policies, DSWD’s regulatory policies, and arrangements for regulated SWDAs operating in areas where DSWD Field Offices have transferred jurisdiction to BARMM (e.g. Cotabato City). As well as the areas in which FO XII and SB will offer technical assistance to MSSD, the purpose of the partnership is to provide quality services to its clientele being served.
