Trainer’s Orientation on Newly Approved Guidelines and Related Policies- batch 2
RATIONALE
The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Standards Bureau (DSWD – SB) is mandated to set standards, register, license, accredit and provide consultative services to organizations engaged in social welfare and development (SWD) activities. DSWD regulatory functions enable the public and private organizations achieve and maintain the standards of SWD programs and services and to ensure that the poor, marginalized, disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals, families and communities receive services of quality in non–discriminatory approach. In order to meet the set standards, a mechanism/strategy for implementation should be in place to reach its organizational outcome no. 4, which is towards continuing compliance of social welfare and development (SWD) agencies to standards and ensuring the quality of services provided to the target individuals, marginalized groups and communities are purposefully in place.
To fulfill its mandate, the Standards Bureau should constantly provide orientation/trainings/seminars to the DSWD Field Office counterparts despite of the restrictions brought by pandemic, to provide them update to the new/enhanced policies/guidelines/procedures developed in order to maintain the standards and its applicability to the present context in providing programs and services to the needy/marginalized sectors provided by the Department. Hence, the conduct of this 4–day activity is proposed.
EXPECTED OUTPUTS/OUTCOME
Strengthened the capability of the participants, in terms of knowledge, skills and attitude, to deliver/understand the Newly Approved Guidelines and Related Policies;
