STANDARDS BUREAU ORIENTS TRAINERS ON NEWLY APPROVED GUIDELINES
The Standards Bureau (SB), led by Atty. Megan Therese Y. Manahan, successfully conducted a four-day “Trainer’s Orientation on the Newly Approved Guidelines and Related Policies for 2025,” equipping trainers with the essential knowledge and tools to implement the latest regulatory policies. The event was held at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Makati City from August 12 to 15, 2025.
The primary objective of the orientation was to deepen the understanding and strengthen the capacity of SB staff and Standards Sections from the DSWD Field Offices. In addition, participants received updates on the Kaagapay Donations Portal (KDP) and various advocacy initiatives.
Key guidelines introduced during the activity included the Memorandum Circular No. 7, Series of 2025, which outlines guidelines for adoption and alternative child care programs and the Memorandum Circular No. 8, series of 2025, which contains the revised guidelines for the Area-Based Standards Network (ABSNet).
Assistant Secretary for Regulatory Services, and Institutional Development Group (RSIDG), Janet P. Armas, CESO IV, personally delivered a powerful closing message. She encouraged participants to “start fresh” with the new guidelines, emphasizing their critical role as the “regulatory arm.” Asec. Armas urged the trainers to leverage their authority to prevent and stop any form of abuse against their clients, drawing inspiration
from the vulnerable children they serve. (PJE)
